Evolving consciousness
It is so easy to narrowly focus on affairs of the human world and perhaps feel despairing at the direction life seems to be taking, as we all strive to keep up financially, socially and timewise to ensure ‘quality of life’. What can easily be over-looked is the big picture perspective, which can help us to make sense of the fast & furious world we are navigating.
Our planet home is a mere speck in a magnificent celestial environment that supports, upholds, and ensures Earth’s ultimate survival. Here on Mother Earth, we exist in a cosmic collective, the Milky Way, which exhibits awe-inspiring intelligence and inherent beauty. A creation of coherent, interacting energy fields keeps all the heavenly bodies, stars, planets, moons and asteroids in aligned place and motion. It is, in effect, a ‘living being’. Some aspects of scientific understanding recognise that this ‘being’ is conscious, an intelligible sea of cosmic ripples that grant consciousness of past, present, and future to all those who dwell within her ambit, including human beings.
Like all living beings, the cosmos is evolving and along with it, the consciousness that arises from its being. Evidence of the evolution of human consciousness is everywhere, exhibited in the sophistication of technical advances, longer life span and increased quality of life in present time, as compared to previous centuries of human existence on the planet. But the disquiet, felt by many in this time and place, at the direction that human consciousness is taking is growing day-by-day.
Many people observe, while feeling powerless to bring about change, the greed that has resulted in gross inequality of human experience, the threat from global warming, the plundering of the planet’s resources coupled with the ensuing degradation of the environment and the recognised risk that AI poses. If this is the direction that human consciousness is leading us, we must ask how has it become so distorted and disconnected from its own source? The answer must lie in the way that we humans perceive our place in the world around, and how much we have disconnected from the natural life force that has nurtured and supported our species from the earliest beginnings of human existence on this planet.
If we accept that humans are evolving not only in physical form, but also in the way we perceive the world, good questions are by what natural mechanism do we align with our evolving consciousness. Secondly, are we attuned to this inherent mechanism or are we so distracted by all that appears in our outside world that we ‘miss the mark’ and fail to ‘see’ the direction we could be taking? Finally, what could we attain in terms of human life satisfaction and alignment with greater self and planetary wellbeing?
As to the inherent mechanisms designed to grant consciousness in living entities, including human, those same interacting energy fields that hold the cosmos together also ensure that each living being is functionally, mentally, and attitudinally (consciousness-wise) aligned with the greater life force energies that deliver health and wellbeing! This alignment occurs through the subtle energy anatomy that underpins all living systems. And it is through this system that consciousness, or the way we perceive the world, arises in the human plane of existence.
So, it follows that, if the cosmos is evolving, our subtle energy anatomy must also be evolving. In earlier times chakras, features of the subtle energy anatomy that co-ordinate and grant coherence to mind, body and spirit were embodied, consisting of seven centres directly related to major bodily systems, emotional states, and psychological understandings. These energy centres allowed us to fully develop consciousness as mature and well-rounded healthy human beings.
However, as the greater body of existence, the collective of galaxies known as the cosmos, shifts into higher frequency resonance levels, we as humans, are evolving additional chakras to enable us to experience and attune to the higher frequencies happening around us. Disembodied, these ‘higher’ chakras reflect the way human consciousness has shifted from merely surviving on our planet home to thriving and exploring novel and more attuned ways to co-exist in beauty and harmony on Earth, along with the collective of living forces of which Gaia is a facet.
In the next few newsletters, I will expand on the five higher chakras and describe how, through understanding and recognising the gifts they offer us in raising ourselves above the old ‘used-by-date’ attitudes and ways of thinking, we open to the beauty, splendour and magnificence of life and thrive as radiant beings.
