Transformation & letting go: Chakra 8
We are living through a period of profound energetic change, and the chakras offer a map through the transformation it asks of us
The unified field is the source of all energy for life and gives rise to all of creation. When we recognise the cosmos as a vast web of creative energy, one that is conscious and driven to evolve, we can more easily perceive it as a living, vibrant expression of that field.
Right now, new high frequency energies from the cosmos are pouring into the unified field and raising its vibration. In response, new chakras have activated in human beings to accommodate these higher frequencies bathing the planet. When we understand what each chakra asks of us and act on it, we prepare for a new mindset and a new body consciousness. This is an invitation to do deep inner work.
A balanced Chakra 7 allows us to see our life as a platform for fulfilling our life purpose and thus evolving and advancing our soul, however, it doesn’t necessarily provide us with the steps to do this. It simply asks us to see the higher wisdom operating in all of us and to rise above a materialistic view of life by recognising that we are not separate from the world we see around us. Indeed, we are one with creation.
The Soul Path chakra provides the first step on this journey to seeking one’s own unique soul path. Located about 12.5 cm above the top of the head and silver in colour, Soul Path triggers higher wisdom to take this journey, by first allowing us to understand the journey we have travelled so far. Chakra Eight (Soul Path) brings awareness as to how we have used our vital life force in past lives and whether our actions have served our soul journey and that of the greater good.
The function of Chakra Eight is to discern the unhelpful patterns we hold on to throughout our current life and past lives, and to upgrade them by bringing in light of the spiritual understanding from Chakra 7. It asks that we identify distorted patterns of the past that have guided our decisions and to move forward by forgiving our own and others past mistakes. In so doing we release karmic debts and through forgiveness or letting go, create a clear space to recognise the sanctity of every soul. We don’t have to condone actions or behaviours but rather recognise that we all stumble at times and make mistakes in our treatment of others or the planet. It is through these mistakes that we learn our greatest lessons. If we choose not to forgive ourselves or others, our life will go on reflecting our prior decisions. Forgiveness and letting go frees the soul to move towards its own destiny.
Creating a new future
The thoughts we have right now create our future/karma, so when we attend to present thoughts, we help create our own future.
According to Cyndi Dale in her book “The Subtle Body’, chakra 8 houses several additional energy bodies, including the Akashic Records, which is everything ever seen and done in the entire history of life on earth; the Shadow Records, that which was unseen, as pertaining to the Akashic Records, and the Book of Life, which reflects the positive aspects of all events. This chakra is the place of karma through which all individuals can connect with all planes, dimensions, and time periods, including alternative and parallel realities.
Mind-Body Connection
Although the higher chakras are not embodied, they have resonances with some of the ‘higher’ functioning glands and brain areas.
Location – relates to the area directly above the head about one and a half hand’s width from the crown. Its colour is silver.
Energetic – it is an energy transference centre, acting as a transformer stepping energy from outside the body up or down, to stimulate energy vitality.
Chakra 8 resonates with the thymus gland which is a vital part of the immune system as it provides T-helper cells for immune function. It is well recognised that consistently negative thought patterns reduce the capacity of the immune system by reducing the release of T-helper cells, and that, conversely, the feeling of ‘awe’ for the majesty of life itself increases release of T-helper cells. So here at chakra 8, we have a powerful link between mind and body contributing to disease states – if the immune system is reduced in capacity, the body can’t fight off invading pathogens.
It also resonates with some aspects of the central nervous system, the thalamus, and the right eye. It functions to assist memory retrieval.
Emotional – brings lightness of being through forgiveness and letting go old hurts, wounds, traumas, people, and events that are blocking free energy flow. It helps cut ‘toxic ties’ that have been emotionally binding. Working with this chakra allows us to forgive past mistakes and move on.
Stimulating awareness of the present moment working with the Soul Chakra helps create new patterns for the future, rather than repeating old patterns from the past. The thoughts we have right now create our future/karma, so when we attend to present thoughts, we help create our own future.
Mental – Brings clarity to make decisions in the ‘now’ rather than simply repeating old scripts and trotting out old formulas for present decisions. It assists in staying present in the ‘here & now’, so it helps with addictions, particularly those of tobacco, nicotine, coffee, alcohol, and habitual, ‘toxic’ thought patterns.
Consciousness - The consciousness of this chakra is that acceptance and joy in the present moment creates a healthy and harmonious pathway into the future.
Through the awareness that flows from a balanced Eighth Chakra we heal deep wounds on the psyche that can otherwise impair our chances of living joyfully. By clearing old residual blockages, we can resolve karma and be open for channelling information through from the higher dimensions (the mind is clear and light and not bound up by a scramble of thoughts that are not relevant to the now).
Energy carries information and is intelligent, so by ‘clearing the channels’ we enable communication with spirit guides and funnel information of past incarnations and the lessons we have or have not learned.
Summary: Living in the Present Moment
Coming into the present moment releases toxic ties that bind and hold us in the past. This allows the future being created to be less impacted by karmic consequences. Through such liberation, energy can flow freely, opening us to channelling from higher dimensional realities. We have access to the following benefits:
Shift old patterns that are holding us back.
Responding to the world with a fresh perspective.
Greater understanding of the link between our thoughts and physical health.
Access knowledge from higher dimensional realities.
