Creating a new essence: Bromeliad
Bromeliad's creation story
What a joy!! After fifteen years, I heard the unmistakeable call of a flower calling to be made into an essence. The Bromeliad flower pulled my attention one sunny day recently as I was wandering through the Spiritorium garden. I am thankful I had the presence of mind to listen to the call.
As I sat beside bromeliad and turned my attention inwards, I listened to the message of flower, sharing the healing qualities she was offering. The timing seemed prescient and resonated with an issue I had been grappling with. I made Bromeliad into an essence with due reverence and gratitude.
Our team, Annie, Grace and Ananda, began taking it soon after. What we noticed was powerful and the resonance was strong enough that we wanted to test the essence effects more widely.
But an essence isn't shaped by theory or intention alone. It's shaped by real experience, by the patterns that emerge across many moments and many people, the challenges that surface and the healing qualities that become evident. These shared experiences help us “prove” the essence in a deeply human and experiential way.
So, as part of the essence development process, we sent it out to a group of participants for blind trialling, meaning those who tested it experienced the essence without knowing its intended themes or purpose.
The feedback was striking. Across a group of people with no knowledge of each other's experience or the essence's intended signature, the responses showed remarkable thematic correlation. The consistency reinforced to us that Bromeliad had a clear and coherent energetic signature.
Bromeliad: Trial Outcomes
Key Signature
Bromeliad works at the first frontier of inner work as a portal to authentic self. The hierarchy of healing positions it as an opener and revealer rather than a deep resolver. Think of it as the essence that clears the defended perimeter so work on the inner self becomes straightforward; grants courage to act in alignment with one's convictions. The "Scorpio of essences" framing is apt: protective exterior concealing genuine treasure.
Healing Challenges
Reactivity Response — hot anger, irritability, and discontent projected outward ("paper tiger")
Externalising — Focus on the superficial nature of issues, distracting from deeper awareness
Blaming - a pattern of blaming external circumstances or people
Defended self — Outer layer acting as a defence pattern that keeps you disconnected from your core
Physical manifestation — liver qi stagnation (TCM), muscle tension particularly upper body, pain; blocked energy with a somatic dimension
Healing Outcomes
Reduced reactivity — redirects externalised energy allowing capacity for genuine self-reflection
Revealing core truths — first layer peeled back; greater certainty of the self
Perception — ability to see one's own contribution to current circumstances
Alignment with personal authority — access your unique inner knowing, grants conviction in personal preferences, prioritising needs of the self
Somatic release — relaxes tension, muscle holding, and supports free flowing liver energy

We now invite you to work with Bromeliad essence, and as this is still a relatively new essence, we welcome any feedback you have. Bromeliad is available in concentrate form.
As for me, I am so delighted that the beautiful flower devas still feel that they can work with me. The Spiritorium garden is so vibrant after all the rain we’ve had here in South-East Queensland. All the garden sprites are all jumping up and down, simply celebrating being alive! My daily walk now exposes me to such a symphony of life force, that it is like a refreshing tonic each round I make. Maybe another flower will poke its head up and make a call xx
